Homemade Applesauce
This homemade sauce is pure apple flavor kissed with lemon and cinnamon.

- 4 pounds cooking apples like Golden Delicious, peeled, cored and quartered
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 (3-inch) cinnamon stick
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup light brown sugar
- ¾-1 cup water depending on the juiciness of apples
- ½ tsp salt
Place all the ingredients into a large saucepan. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, over medium heat until tender, about 20-30 minutes. Remove from the heat. Discard the cinnamon stick. Pass the applesauce through a food mill. Serve warm or chilled. Enjoy!
- Stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator, the applesauce will keep for up tp 3 days.
- Stored in a freezer-safe container in the freezer, the applesauce will keep for up to 3 months.
