Key Ingredients for Mini Brioche Lobster Rolls

A bowl of chopped seafood sits on a white countertop, surrounded by slider buns, fresh herbs, a lemon, a jar of cayenne pepper, a small bowl of mayonnaise, and a small bowl of chopped celery.

Mini Brioche Rolls offer a buttery flavor, subtle sweetness, and fluffy texture, making them the perfect vessel for a lobster roll.

Cooked Lobster Meat is the real star of this recipe. Always opt for the freshest lobster available; it’s what truly makes these rolls shine.

Mayonnaise imparts a smooth, creamy feel and rich flavor, delicately enveloping every piece of lobster.

Lemon adds a hint of citrus, enhancing the lobster’s sweetness and maintaining the filling’s vibrancy.

Fresh Tarragon boasts a distinctive flavor that many describe as a blend of sweet anise and gentle vanilla, accompanied by a touch of pepper. Its subtle, fragrant taste makes it an excellent complement to a variety of dishes without overwhelming them.

Fresh Chives add a mild onion taste and a pop of fresh green color.

Celery adds a crunchy texture and a mild vegetal taste.

Cayenne Pepper has a balanced, peppery taste with a hint of sweetness that doesn’t overpower other flavors.

Equipment Needed

Tips for Making Mini Brioche Lobster Rolls

  1. Using a small paring knife, angle it slightly into the roll.
  2. Cut a 1 1/2-inch round plug from the roll.
  3. Repeat with the remaining rolls, then carefully use a small spoon to hollow out each roll. SAVE THE PLUGS FOR BREAD CRUMBS OR CROUTONS.
  4. Mix all the ingredients until smooth, then divide the mixture evenly among the rolls.

Substitions

  • Substitute lobster with crabmeat or shrimp.
  • Substitute the mini brioche rolls with small Parker House rolls. They have a similar taste and texture.
  • Tarrogan can be substituted with similar-flavored herbs, like chervil, basil, dill, or even fennel fronds. Adjust the herb flavors according to your tastes.
  • Use a combination of mayonnaise and Greek yogurt to lower the calories.
  • As I always say, “Make it for you, make it your own.”
