Tips for Making Roasted Chickpeas
- Place the chickpeas in a flour sack or kitchen towel. Fold the towel over the chickpeas and gently rub them back and forth to thoroughly dry them. Remove any loose skins.
- Transfer the chickpeas to a bowl and season with the olive oil and sea salt.
- Place the chickpeas on a silicone or parchment-lined rimmed baking sheet. The rimmed baking sheet is essential so the chickpeas don’t roll off when they are being shaken and baked.

- Flavored salts: I use plain Maldon Sea Salt, but you can also try using one of their flavored salts, such as garlic or smoked salt.

Sea Salt Roasted Chickpeas

Ingredients
- 1 (15 ounce) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1 tablespoon Extra-virgin olive oil
- ½ teaspoon coarse sea salt, (I use Maldon)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400℉. Line a rimmed baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
- Spread the chickpeas on a flour sack or kitchen towel. Fold the towel over the chickpeas and gently rub them back and forth to remove excess moisture. Discard and loose skins.
- Place the chickpeas in a medium bowl. Add the olive oil and sea salt, and toss to coat. Spread the chickpeas on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 30-40 minutes, shaking the baking sheet halfway through, until golden brown.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and place it on a wire rack. Allow the chickpeas to cool completely on the baking sheet. (The chickpeas will continue to crisp as they cool.) Transfer the chickpeas to a serving bowl or store in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Enjoy!
